UP Governor Promulgates Ordinance on ‘Anti-Love Jihad’ Law

Congratulations to the UP Govt. for sincerely working to strengthen devout Hindus and women. The Central Govt. should enact this Law all over the country !

If all girls and women are educated on Dharma and spiritual practice, they will not fall victims to ‘Love Jihad’ since they would be sattvik in the first place !

Lucknow (UP) – The Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel gave assent to an ordinance against forcible or fraudulent
religious conversions by promulgating ‘The Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Religion Ordinance 2020’, popularly known as the ‘Anti-Love Jihad’ law.

On 24th November, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet had cleared a draft ordinance that sought to check religious conversions for the sake of marriage.

Under the proposed law, a marriage will be declared ‘null and void’ if the conversion of a woman is solely for this purpose. People who wish to change their religion after marriage will have to apply to the concerned District Magistrate.

Conversion for the alleged purpose of marriage is, however, one aspect of the ordinance. An official Spokesperson said the onus to prove that conversion has not been done using such means will lie on the person carrying it out and the person who got converted

In cases of mass religious conversion, the registration of social
organisations will be cancelled and strong action initiated against them.
Punishment under the new law is a jail term of 1-5 years, and a fine of Rs.15,000.

“If the girl involved is a minor or belongs to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe, then the jail term will range from 3 to 10 years with the fine increasing to Rs. 50,000”.
