Prayagraj – On 19th January, a massive fire engulfed 200 tents of Geeta Press at the Maha Kumbha Mela, reducing them to ashes. According to Geeta Bhavan’s Manager, Gaurishankar Mohta, the Government will facilitate the reconstruction of new tents in place of the burnt ones. From the morning of 20th January, efforts began to clear the debris, including partially burnt materials and ashes. The reconstruction of the tents in their original state will commence soon thereafter.
Speaking to the Sanatan Prabhat correspondent, Gaurishankar Mohta said, “Despite the mishap, Geeta Press’s regular activities continue without interruption. Members who were residing in the burnt tents have been temporarily relocated to nearby camps and tents. The Government is extending full support. Once the clean-up is complete, the process of setting up new tents will begin.”
