Washington (USA) – Donald Trump delivered his first speech after taking the oath of office as the 47 th President of the United States. He said, ‘I think 20 th January is a liberation day for America. The golden age of America begins right now. We will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer. We have come together to ensure our unity and to make America great again. There will be no tolerance for any kind of intrusion in our country. If any nation adopts a hostile stance towards us, we will respond in their own language and teach them a lesson’.

1. Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom and indeed to take my life. I felt then, and I believe even more so now, that my life was saved by God to make America great again.
2. People elected me. We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution, and we will not forget our God. Remember that America will never fail, let’s all unite, we have to come together to make America more prosperous.
National Emergency declared at the southern border
In his speech, Donald Trump announced a national emergency at the southern border of the United States. He also stated that the military would be deployed to stop the illegal immigration occurring at the southern border.
Tariff imposed on Canada and Mexico
The Trump administration announced that starting from 1 st February, a 25% additional tariff will be imposed on goods imported from Mexico and Canada.
No separate status for transgender people
After taking the oath of office, Donald Trump said that from today onwards, it will be the official policy of the United States Government that there are only two genders: male and female. The order clarifies that transgender individuals will not be given separate treatment.
