Why the secularists who call such weddings as ‘love’ are silent now ? Why are they not protesting against the church for this, or is it that the Church’s protest is justified; but when Hindus protest against this as ‘love jihad’ then they feel it is unjustified ?

Kochi (Kerala)-  On 9th November, a Catholic woman married a Muslim man at the Kadavanthra St Joseph Church under the order of the Syro- Malabar Church. The couple’s photograph of the wedding was also published in a local newspaper.

Due to the protests raised against this wedding Mar Mathew Vaniyakizhakkel, a bishop attending the wedding and the priest who conducted the ceremony had to apologise. As per the rules of The Syro-Malabar Church inter-faith weddings are illegitimate.  Cardinal Mar George Alencherry has ordered an inquiry and asked the archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamali diocese Mar Antony Kariyil to submit a report.

Islamic State behind ‘love jihad’ incidents in Kerala- Kerala Catholic Bishops Council

According to Kerala Catholic Bishops Council, ‘love jihad’ is the problem for such incidents, and Islamic State is having a hand in it. Young women are forced to convert to Islam under love jihad. Popular Front of India has threatened to remain silent on this issue as they feel that this will weaken their campaign against CAA.

The Police and administration are not serious to curb Love Jihad – Kerala Church

It is alleged by Kerala Church that a few months back half of the 21 youths from Kerala who joined IS, were Christians youths converted to Islam. The Police and administration are not taking any steps to stop Love Jihad in Kerala.
