Second wave of Covid leads France to declare a health emergency

Paris (France) – Nationwide public health state of emergency has been declared by the French Government after the fresh wave of coronavirus pandemic has surfaced. This is the second time for France to declare the health emergency. President Macron has announced curfew to be imposed in certain urban centres.

France had earlier declared a health emergency in March. It was withdrawn on 10th July. Restrictions were relaxed in France after the coronavirus infection subsided. Private banquets and events were also organised. A state of emergency has been declared again after it was discovered that the coronavirus infection was spreading. Concerns are being raised in France as the number of coronavirus cases exceeded 20,000 continuously for the sixth day in a row. Corona has killed 32,000 people in France so far.
