Gufran traps a Hindu girl in a love affair disguised as ‘Jayprakash’

Balia (Uttar Pradesh) – A shocking case of ‘Love Jihad’ has surfaced in the Ubhaav area of the district. A Muslim youth named Gufran Ahmed trapped a 22-year-old Hindu girl in a love affair by posing as ‘Jayprakash’. After gaining her trust, he engaged in physical relations with her and recorded videos. He then blackmailed her with these videos, pressuring her to convert to Islam. Police have registered a case against three accused, and the main perpetrator, Gufran Ahmed, has been arrested.

According to the victim’s complaint, Gufran Ahmed initially contacted her on social media under the fake name ‘Jayprakash’ and lured her into a romantic relationship. With the help of his friends Ashraf and Yakub, he staged a fake marriage with her at a temple in Salempur on March 2. Following this, he established physical relations with her and secretly filmed videos. Later, he began blackmailing her, threatening to release the videos if she did not convert to Islam. At this point, he revealed his true identity. Realizing the deception, the victim approached the Police. The Police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.

Despite the enactment of the law against Love Jihad in Uttar Pradesh, such cases continue to emerge frequently. This clearly indicates that Muslim youths have no fear of the law. To address this, the law must be made stricter, with legal experts even advocating for the death penalty for Love Jihad perpetrators.
