Kolar (Karnataka), March 14 – After the Karnataka government implemented a 4% reservation for the Muslim community in government contracts, the ‘Karnataka State Minority Engineers Association’ has now demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan increase the reservation for Muslims in education and employment to 10%.
Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan responded promptly to this demand and immediately directed the concerned authorities to take necessary action. (This raises the question – are the state’s policy decisions made by the Cabinet, or is Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan making them solely for the minority community ? – Editor)
Currently, the state government provides 4% reservation for the Muslim community in education and employment. In the recently announced Karnataka state budget, a decision was made to grant 4% reservation to the Muslim community in government contracts. In this context, the Karnataka State Minority Engineers Association has put forth the above demand.
