If Bangladesh can implement such a rule, why cannot India follow the suit ?
Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Bangladesh Government, in its cabinet meeting, has approved to raise the maximum punishment in rape cases from life imprisonment to death penalty. An ordinance is expected to be passed in the absence of Parliament session. Under the current law, life imprisonment is the maximum penalty for rape except for the cases in which the victim dies, when the death penalty is allowed.
