Punishment for imposing fine on wife of Congress MLA from Baddi (Himachal Pradesh)
Lucknow (UP) – Ilma Afroz, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, has become a focal point of discussion. The Congress-led State Government, reportedly unhappy with her actions, placed her on forced extended leave. Consequently, Afroz returned to her hometown in Uttar Pradesh along with her mother. The controversy began when Afroz fined Kuldeep Kaur, the wife of Congress MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, for a traffic violation involving her four-wheelers, which angered the MLA.
This incident has also taken a political turn. BJP leader Kausar Jahan alleged that Congress only seeks Muslim votes and does nothing for their welfare.

What is the issue ?
Ilma Afroz had a conflict with Congress MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary. Recently, she imposed a fine on Chaudhary’s wife, Kuldeep Kaur, for vehicular rule violations. Additionally, Afroz arrested a scrap dealer reportedly close to the MLA. Congress workers further accused Afroz of issuing large number of licenses to Muslims. However, data obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act revealed that during her nine-month tenure, Afroz issued 50 firearm licenses, 48 to Hindus and 2 to Muslims, contradicting these allegations and exposing Congress’s false claims.Despite repeated pressure from the ruling Congress Government, Afroz upheld her principles and refused to yield.
