Trump open to become a Third time President

Without amending the constitution it is not possible as he does not have the necessary numbers

Washington (US) – America’s President – elect Donald Trump said, ‘I feel I will not fight elections again, but if you think I should then I could think about doing so.’ He was speaking in a gathering at a Hotel; before he went to meet President Joe Biden.

1. A person can be the President of United States only for two terms. Trump has got elected for the second time. Trump will have to amend the Constitution if he tries to be President for the third term. For this he will need to have the approval of the America’s senators and the States; but Trump does not have the necessary numbers.

2. The two term limit for being the President was not there in the original Constitution of America. In 1951 the 22nd amendment, in which the rule that a person can be elected President of America only twice was passed.

3. America’s first President George Washington retired after being President for two terms. After that it became an unofficial rule that the future Presidents worked for 2 terms. And later it became the tradition.

4. This tradition was broken during Franklin D Roosevelt’s tenure. He was elected 4 times as President in the period 1933 to 1945. After this the 22nd Amendment was passed stating that a person could hold the office of the President only for two terms. And this became the law.
