Spiritual research performed by Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay on the Camphor tree found in the forests of Sumatra, Indonesia!

Shrichitshakti (Mrs) Anjali Gadgil

Shrichitshakti (Mrs) Anjali Gadgil has been touring different countries for the last few years. To date she has travelled  extensively, visiting historical and cultural places in various countries collecting invaluable information, photographs and unique items for preservation.

During her tour of South-Eastern nations, she learnt about the camphor trees in the forests of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, yielding pure Bhimseni camphor. The terrain being mountainous and difficult to negotiate two accompanying seekers travelled there to get an idea of the region. They went in search of the camphor trees and managed to get various parts of the camphor tree, like pieces of the bark, pieces of the stump, pieces of the core of the trunk etc., for preservation.

The Universal Aura Scanner (UAS) was developed in 2005 by Dr. Mannem Murthy, a former nuclear scientist from Telengana. By using this instrument the Energy and the aura of an object, a premises, an animal or an individual can be measured.

Using the Universal aura scanner (UAS) readings were taken. The interpretation and spiritual analysis of the observations in this study is given ahead.

1. Interpretation of Observations: In this study the bark, pieces of the stump and pieces of the core of the trunk of the camphor tree were studied using the UAS.

1 A. Analysis of the observations related to the negative and positive energies – Positive energy was found in the camphor tree bark, tree stump and trunk: In all these parts, there was no negative energy aura but only positive energy aura. This is apparent from the table given ahead.

Components in the study Negative energy Aura (Metres) Positive energy Aura (Metres)
Infrared energy Ultraviolet energy

2. Camphor tree stump Nil Nil 2.36
3. Camphor tree trunk Nil Nil 2.89

2. Spiritual analysis of the observations in the study

2 A. The camphor tree being Sattvik, its parts namely the bark, the stump and the trunk, were found to have positive energy : Camphor is produced in the core of the camphor tree and could take 50 to 150 years to get formed. To procure camphor from a tree, it has to be cut down and the white coloured camphor obtained from its core.

Kapur- Bhimseni

Camphor is originally called ‘Chandrabhasma’ (Moon-ash). Since the camphor tree is basically Sattvik, its different parts were found to have positive energy. The Shiva principle is attracted to pure camphor. By burning camphor, the raja-tama particles in the atmosphere are destroyed and it becomes pure and holy. Inhaling camphor opens up the respiratory tract. Due to its medicinal properties, camphor is also used in the treatment of diseases.

3.  Acquire Divine grace by planting and cultivating Sattvik trees and medicinal plants ! : God has bestowed priceless spiritual wealth in nature through Sattvik plants and trees like Holy basil plant (Tulsi), Aegle marmelos (Bel), Cluster fig tree (Audumbar) etc. Ancient Sages due to their deep knowledge on the ability of Sattvik plants and trees to attract the principles of certain Deities, carefully integrated them with the daily activities of human life. For example offering specific leaves to a specific Deity (Holy basil to Shri Krishna), worshipping Sattvik trees like Audumbar, Pipal, Banyan etc. Different parts of trees like the leaves, flowers, fruits, branches, trunk, roots etc. have medicinal properties and are used in Ayurveda to make medicines. It is the duty of each one of us to preserve the precious treasure of Sattvik trees and herbs. Let us acquire Divine grace by planting and cultivating Sattvik trees and medicinal plants.

Note A -Camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora), a large evergreen tree found in East Asia; and in the kapur tree (Dryobalanops sp.), a tall timber tree from South East Asia.
