Finally, fighters ‘Rafale’ jets arrive in India
Indian Air Force’s strength soars !
New Delhi – Finally, on 29th July, at 3:10 pm, the much awaited fighter ‘Rafale’ jets arrived in India. All five of these aircraft have landed at the Indian Air Force Airbase in Ambala. These multi-role aircraft will revolutionise the capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
On 26th July, five Rafale jets took off from France’s Merignac Airport for India. The jets made a stopover at Al-Dafra airbase in United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a day. Thereafter, the aircraft reached India on 29th July. The first five Rafale jets established contact with an Indian Navy warship after the fighters entered the Indian airspace. As the jets entered Indian Ocean, stealth destroyer INS Kolkata deployed in the Western Arabian Sea established contact and wished them ‘happy landing’. The Rafale pilots also greeted the INS Kolkata warship. Extensively trained IAF Pilots in France, have brought these aircraft to India. As soon as these planes took off, they were refuelled mid-air, and their photographs were widely circulated. The touch-down of Rafale combat aircraft in India marks the beginning of a new era in our Military History, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, as soon as these aircraft landed in Ambala.
A final, more officious, induction will take place on 20th August. These aircraft are to be used shortly thereafter, it is being said. Currently, China and Pakistan do not have a single aircraft in competition to Rafale.
In the year 2016, India signed a contract of 59 crore rupees with France, to buy 36 Rafale aircraft. India has designed these aircraft fully equipped with state-of-the-art weapons as per its requirement.
Speciality of Rafale
- Rafale aircraft is one of the best fighter jets in the world.
- The fleet of five Rafale fighter jets recieved by India comprises three aircrafts of single-seater capacity while two aircrafts of twin-seater capacity.
- These aircrafts are equipped with ‘Meteor’ and ‘Scalp’ missiles. Due to this, the ability of the Indian Air Force to carry out deep intensified attacks in the enemy’s territory is going to increase manifold.
- The speed of this aircraft is 2,130 kilometres per hour with a capacity to fly at a height of 20,000 meters.
- These aircrafts have the capability to intercept 40 targets at a time within a range of 100 kilometers.
- It has advanced camera, which can easily capture even the smallest objects on the ground from the sky.
- Rafael’s security cover ‘spectra system’ have ‘radar jam’ function, due to which the radar of the enemy cannot trace Rafael. With the help of this ‘spectra system’, information about any missile coming in the direction of the aircraft is received. Even after jamming the radar, if any missile approaches the aircraft, the ‘electromagnetic pulse’ waves emanating from the aircraft changes the direction of the missile coming in the direction of the aircraft.
