Pakistan Government stops temple construction after opposition from religious fanatics

This was bound to happen. There is nothing surprising about it ! When Hindu temples were demolished after the partition in 1947 and converted into mosques and slaughter-houses in Pakistan, will it ever be possible to build Hindu temples in that country and that too with Government money ?

Imran Khan had boasted that, ‘In India, minorities are oppressed in the BJP States. We will show you how minorities are protected’. Will they now tell us what is really going on in Imran Khan’s Pakistan ?

Islamabad (Pakistan) – For the first time, a Hindu temple was to be built here. The ground digging ritual was performed and the foundation stone of the temple was also laid. Then, a group of men destroyed the partially constructed wall around the temple’s land, claiming it was their Islamic duty to do so. They gleefully filmed their exploits and posted it on social media. None of the vandals have been arrested. Several clerics ruled that no Hindu temple should be built, because Pakistan is a Muslim country.

The Pakistan Government was to provide Rs. 10 crore for the temple. On 2^nd July, the Imran Khan Government stopped the construction of this temple. An Islamic organisation opposed the temple and utilisation of Pakistan Government funds for the temple.

The temple was being constructed by Pakistan’s Capital Development Authority. Now the Pakistan Government has decided to consult the Islamic Ideology Council on the temple construction.

Prime Minister Imran Khan to decide on financing the temple

A spokesman of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide on financial assistance to places of minority worship. The rights of minorities will be protected in Pakistan. (Hindus know very well that the Pakistani Government had decided to build a temple to raise its image internationally ! – Editor)
