Devout Hindus oppose, on Twitter, Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan’s demand for borrowing gold from temples

The hashtag #CongressEyesTemplesGold ranks 8th  in the national trend !


Mumbai – Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan recently demanded that the Government should borrow gold from Hindu temples in India at 1-2% interest to cope with the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus. Therefore, devout Hindus reacted against him through Twitter.

Devout Hindus have started protesting by making the hashtag #CongressEyesTemplesGold. This trend was ranked 8th in the national trend, and more than 35,000 tweets were sent on it. Many criticised the Congress.
