New Delhi – The country’s first Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, while addressing the Raisina Dialogue 2020 said that until we understand and get to the root of terrorism we will have to live with it. There is a need to take a hardline approach to bring an end to terrorism, and this can only happen the way Americans started after 9/11. He added that any country which sponsors terrorism has to be taken to task, and one such good measure is blacklisting of the country by the Financial Action Task Force. (The best way to end terrorism is to wipe out sponsors of terror-ism – countries such as Pakistan ! – Editor) “Terrorism is here to stay so long as there are going to be states that sponsor terrorism and they are going to use terrorists as proxies, make weapons available to them, fund them, then we can’t control terrorism”, he said.
