Anti-Pakistan protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir level allegation

Rawalakot (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) – Protests against the Pakistan Government in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are intensifying steadily. On 2 July, the 24th day of the agitation, around 80,000 people gathered at the Eidgah Ground in Rawalakot. The protesters raised slogans against the Pakistan Government and reiterated their demands. Addressing the gathering, Sardar Aman Khan, chief of the Joint Awami Action Committee, made serious allegations against the Pakistani Army. He said that it was the Pakistani Army itself that had supplied weapons and ammunition to Kashmiris, but the very same people are now branding them as “terrorists”.
Aman Khan claimed that in February 2025, a procession of Jaish-e-Mohammed was taken out in Rawalakot. Participants openly carried AK-47 rifles and swords. He alleged that the then Deputy Commissioner of Rawalakot had not only granted permission for the procession but had also provided security for it. “First they allowed an armed procession, and now they are calling us terrorists,” he said.
The agitation could escalate into a demand for complete separation from Pakistan !
The protesters said their movement is based on 38 major demands. Aman Khan warned that if the Government failed to accept these demands soon, the agitation would not remain confined to reforms but could escalate into a demand for complete separation from Pakistan.
Calls for dialogue with India also raised
Some speakers at the gathering rejected Pakistan’s control over the region and stressed the need for greater dialogue with India. Aman Khan said that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is not a part of Pakistan and that Pakistan needs the region more than its people need Pakistan.
Support from overseas communities as well
The movement in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is also receiving support from people living abroad. Demonstrations have been held outside Pakistani embassies in several countries. As a result, the agitation is increasingly becoming a subject of international discussion.
