Pakistan ready to retaliate against India, threatens Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari issues an open threat over the Indus Waters Treaty

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan is prepared to retaliate if India attempts to stop its water supply, warned Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, while addressing Parliament. Pakistan has once again adopted an aggressive stance over the Indus Waters Treaty. Bhutto further stated that Pakistan would not compromise on what it considers its rights over the river waters and would continue to fight for them.

This is not the first time that former Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has made remarks on the Indus Waters Treaty. Since India announced the suspension of the treaty, he has made a series of provocative statements. On an earlier occasion, Zardari had declared, “Either our water will flow through the Indus River, or your (India’s) blood will.” The PPP led by Zardari currently supports the government headed by Shehbaz Sharif.

Editorial Perspective

Rather than issuing threats to India, Zardari should compel the Pakistani government and the ISI to stop nurturing jihadi terrorists.
