Jihadi advocate physically exploits a female Hindu advocate by concealing his identity

Case of Love Jihad in Surat, Gujarat

Surat (Gujarat) – A female Hindu advocate in Surat has accused her fellow advocate colleague of concealing his identity, establishing a romantic relationship with her, luring her with promises of marriage and sexually exploiting her. In her complaint, the victim stated that the accused falsely introduced himself as ‘Rohan’ and established physical relations with her. Police have registered a case against the accused and commenced investigation in this matter.

1. According to the victim, the accused participated in religious activities to display deep devotion towards Hindu Dharma. Because of this, she developed complete trust in him.

2. The victim has alleged that, on the basis of this trust, the accused promised to marry her and established physical relations with her on several occasions.

3. When the victim later pressured the accused for marriage, he suddenly refused and the truth came to light.

4. When the victim opposed the accused and attempted to discover the truth, he assaulted her and insulted her using casteist abuses.

5. The accused was already married to another woman. After learning this, the victim realised that she had been deceived and exploited. Thereafter, the woman lodged a complaint at the Chowk Bazaar Police Station in Surat.
