Joseph Vijay

Chennai – The Joseph Vijay government in Tamil Nadu won the floor test in the Legislative Assembly. The government received 144 votes in its favour, while only 22 votes were cast against it. This is Vijay’s first major victory. After the win, Chief Minister Joseph Vijay said, “Our government will function in a secular manner.”

The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has a total of 234 seats. Any government requires the support of 118 MLAs to secure a majority. Joseph Vijay’s government received 144 votes. It is being said that AIADMK MLAs also voted in support of his government.

Editorial Perspective

In India, a “secular government” means providing facilities and benefits to all religious communities except Hindus, especially to Muslims, and protecting them with utmost care! Therefore, it would not be surprising if the condition of the Hindus there, who voted for Joseph Vijay’s TVK party after rejecting the anti-Hindu DMK, becomes worse.
