Gokarna (Karnataka) – The Income Tax Department had ordered Shri Sansthan Mahabaleshwar Temple to pay pending tax dues of ₹13 lakh for the assessment year 2016-17 and ₹90 lakh for the year 2019-20. This order was challenged by the Temple administration. Now, the verdict on this challenge has been delivered in favour of the Temple, and through this order, the Commissioner of Appeals of the Income Tax Department has confirmed that the tax arrears are zero.

The outcome came only after strong opposition from the temple authorities.

Earlier too, the Temple administration had secured victory in the case related to tax arrears of ₹1 crore 42 lakh for the assessment year 2015-16. With this, all Income Tax cases against the Temple administration have now concluded.
