A case of  “Love Jihad” has come to light in Haryana

Kaithal (Haryana) – Police in Kaithal have recently arrested a man accused of falsely posing as an Army Major and deceiving Hindu women under the pretext of marriage. According to police officials, the accused is a Muslim resident of the Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. An Army uniform was also recovered from his possession. Investigations revealed that the accused had created a profile on an online matrimonial platform, where he introduced himself as “Major Nishant Saharan” and targeted Hindu women. In one such case, Kaithal police intercepted his taxi while he was on his way to meet a woman from Hisar. During questioning, police grew suspicious of his claim of being an Army Major. Further inquiry established that his real identity is Mehrajuddin Azam, not Nishant Saharan. Authorities also uncovered a plan to deceive a woman from Hisar into a marriage arrangement. Since the matter is linked to Hisar, Kaithal police have handed over the accused to the Hisar police for further investigation.

1.  During interrogation by Hisar police, several significant details emerged. The accused deceived more than ten Hindu women by falsely claiming to be an Army Major. He is also reported to have taken ₹30,000 from a woman in Hisar.

2.  Mehrajuddin Azam adopted the Hindu name “Nishant Saharan” while posing as a fake Army Major. A complaint has been registered against him at Azad Nagar Police Station in Hisar.

3.  During interrogation by Hisar police, Mehrajuddin stated that he had created a fake profile on “Shaadi.com” using forged identification. He introduced himself as “Nishant Saharan,” claiming to be an Army Major and the owner of 120 acres of land. He had also uploaded photographs of himself in military uniform on the platform.

4.  The accused is alleged to have concealed his religious identity and lured Hindu women with promises of marriage to obtain money. The Hisar police are currently investigating the case and are examining the possible involvement of others.
