Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) – In the Bilari area, a 17-year-old Muslim girl has been taken into custody by Police in connection with an incident where a Hindu girl was forced to wear a burqa and pressured to convert her religion. On 27 March, the minor was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board and later sent to a juvenile home. (Juvenile reform homes should be meant for children who can be rehabilitated and guided toward change. On the other hand, if some children are deeply influenced by radical teachings and are willing to go to any extent, can sending them to such reform homes truly bring about change in them? – Editor) It is reported that a total of five Muslim friends were involved in pressuring the victim.
1. According to the complaint, five Muslim friends of the Hindu girl allegedly pressured her to convert and repeatedly forced her to wear a burqa and consume meat.
2. The victim’s brother has alleged that his sister had been subjected to “brainwashing” over a long period. He also claimed that on one occasion, the girls took her to a restaurant and allegedly mixed some intoxicating substance in her food, after which her behaviour changed.
3. Police investigation revealed that the incident dates back to December. While returning home from tuition classes, the girl was allegedly stopped by her friends, persuaded, and forcibly made to wear a burqa. Police are currently searching for the other accused girls, and a detailed investigation into all aspects of the case is underway.
