Muslim mother files police complaint alleging her minor daughter eloped with a Hindu youth

Darbhanga (Bihar): A Muslim woman has filed a complaint against a Hindu youth named Mahesh Sahani, accusing him of kidnapping her minor daughter. The woman alleged that the girl fled from home with jewelry and ₹70,000 in cash. She also claimed that the girl has been taken to Punjab.

Statement by the Muslim woman: 

“I do not wish to give my daughter to a Hindu man.”

The woman told local media:

1. “I do not want to give my daughter to a Hindu man.”

2. “The boy sends me videos in which he is seen with the cash and a mobile phone. He also sends videos of my daughter, in which she is seen wearing vermilion on her forehead and anklets.”

3. “My daughter is a Class 10 student. Mahesh Sahani (20), along with his friends from a neighbouring village, took her away from our home on January 2. I filed a complaint with the police, but no action has been taken.”
