Abdullah poses as ‘Rahul’, to deceiving a Hindu girl in Uttar Pradesh

Eloped after luring her with the promise of marriage

Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh) – In the Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu girl was lured and abducted by a Muslim man named Abdullah, who pretended to be a Hindu.

According to reports, the accused, Abdullah, first came into contact with the victim through Facebook, where he introduced himself as a Hindu man named Rahul. He gradually developed a relationship with her through regular online conversations. Over time, he gained her trust and persuaded her to leave home by falsely promising to marry her.

Subsequently, on 11 March 2026, the victim left her house, stating that she was going to the clothing shop run by her mother, but instead fled with the accused. According to the victim’s mother, the family discovered that she had left behind her mobile phone and had taken approximately Rs 50,000 in cash along with some jewellery from the house. The victim’s mother stated that her husband worked as a clothes hawker while she operated a clothing store with her daughters in the locality.

After the victim failed to reach the shop and could not be contacted, the family began searching for her and later learnt that she had eloped with Rahul, who was in fact Abdullah, the son of Aftab and a resident of the Kotwali Police station area. The victim’s mother approached the police and filed a complaint, expressing fear that her daughter could be forced into religious conversion and married to the accused. She also stated that Abdullah’s father and maternal uncle were involved in the incident and could facilitate the forced marriage. Following the complaint, the police registered a case against Abdullah, his father, and his maternal uncle. As of the date of writing this report, the investigation was ongoing.

Editorial Perspective

Such incidents happening even under the Government of Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, is not expected by Hindus. To stop such incidents, Hindus should also put pressure on the Government.
