Terror Conspiracy Targeting India Foiled : Six Ukrainians and a US Citizen Detained

Drones Procured from Europe Were Supplied to Terrorists in Myanmar !

New Delhi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested seven foreign nationals on charges of plotting terrorist activities against India. The accused include six Ukrainian citizens and one American national. They were apprehended at airports in Lucknow, Delhi, and Kolkata.

Mizoram Chief Minister Informed the Assembly

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma informed the Legislative Assembly that several foreign nationals, including individuals from the United States and the United Kingdom, have been entering Myanmar via Mizoram to provide weapons training to militant groups. Some of them are also reported to have participated in the Russia–Ukraine conflict.

Supply of Drones and Connections to Militant Groups

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the accused were procuring large quantities of drones from Europe and supplying them, via India, to insurgent groups in Myanmar that allegedly support terrorist elements in India. All the suspects had entered India on valid visas; however, they reached Mizoram without the required Restricted Area Permit. From there, they crossed the border into Myanmar and established contact with anti-India ethnic groups.

The Patiala House Court has extended their custody until March 27 to investigate the scale of the conspiracy and trace financial sources. Authorities are currently examining their mobile phones and social media accounts, and are working to identify their associates in India as well as foreign handlers.

Editorial perspective

Until now, it was Pakistani terrorists who were carrying out operations in India; however, since other foreign nationals are now engaging in such activities as well, India must henceforth hand down the death penalty to them, only then will it serve as a deterrent to others !
