Only Hindu-owned shops should be allowed at the Simhastha Kumbha festival in Nashik

  • Appeal by Minister Nitesh Rane

  • Call to remove shops set up by infiltrating religious extremists

Nashik – At the Simhastha Kumbha festival scheduled to be held here next year, only Hindus should set up their shops (stalls), stated Maharashtra’s Minister for Fisheries and Ports Development, Shri Nitesh Rane. He made a strong appeal that if Muslims or followers of other faiths attempt to infiltrate and set up shops, such establishments should be removed.

He was speaking on March 14th at the launch ceremony of the “Hindu Businesspersons and Artisans Directory,” prepared by the organization Hindu Hit Raksha.

Purchase goods only from Hindus

Minister Rane further said, “I welcome the concept that Hindus should buy goods only from Hindus. This is the need of the times. I had expressed the same position earlier in Kharghar, when sections of the media criticized me. However, I am not concerned about such criticism when it comes to protecting religion.”

Allegation of double standards among religious extremists

On the occasion of the Kumbh festival, no one other than Hindus should set up shops, he said. Referring to the ongoing month of Ramadan, he claimed that one would not find a single Hindu working in food establishments run by them. He further alleged that their religious texts instruct followers not to accept anything from “non-believers,” and therefore they act accordingly. He questioned how adopting a similar stance for protecting one’s own religion could be considered wrong.

He added that he had read the Quran twice and claimed it mentions giving “10% additional zakat,” which, according to him, is used for jihad, and that it encourages strengthening one’s religion by weakening others.

Allegation that collected funds are used for ‘Love Jihad’

He further alleged that zakat and other funds collected by religious extremists are used for activities such as “Love Jihad,” which he described as anti-national. He questioned whether people should accept money if it is being used for such purposes. Therefore, he said, not a single “jihadi” should be allowed to enter the Simhastha Kumbh festival, urging people to remain vigilant.

No place for extremists at the Simhastha Kumbh festival

Minister Rane added, “The Kumbh festival is a sacred religious event for Hindus. Not a single jihadi should be allowed here. Instances have come to light in Trimbakeshwar where shops display Hindu names while someone else operates inside under a different identity. Such deception will no longer be tolerated. Keep a close watch during the Simhastha Kumbh festival. If any extremist is seen setting up a shop, remove it. We are in the ministry, so there is no reason to fear.”

Strict anti– ‘Love Jihad’ law coming soon

He assured that the process of introducing an anti-conversion law in the state has begun and that Maharashtra will soon implement what he described as the country’s strictest law against “Love Jihad.”
