Three Muslim youths arrested for pressurising a Hindu student to convert

Sameer, Zuber, and Shahid, who harassed a Hindu female student and pressured her to convert and marry, are in police custody

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) – Three Muslim youths, Samir, Zubair, and Shahid, were stalking and harassing a Hindu girl student for several days. The accused were pressuring her to convert to Islam and marry Samir. The police have arrested all three.

The student, a resident of Jallalpur, was studying at a degree college. She alleged that Samir and Zubair, residents of the Shahjamal area, and Shahid, from Sumkhara in the Gaunda area, had been following and harassing her for several days. The youths were pressurising her to convert and marry Samir.

Upon informing her family, the girl’s uncle and others intercepted the youths on 12 March when they were following her to the college. The police, alerted immediately, arrived at the scene and took the accused into custody.

A case has been registered against the accused for harassment and pressurising her to convert. The police confirmed that all three have been arrested.

The government should realise that such incidents will continue to happen until a law imposing the ultimate punishment for crimes related to Love Jihad is enacted.
