Attempted Rape of 5-Year-Old Hindu Girl by Minor Muslim Boy in Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh)

Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) – In a village within the jurisdiction of Talai Police Station, a minor Muslim boy attempted to rape a 5-year-old girl. This incident occurred on March 6th. In this case, the minor Muslim boy has been taken into custody and, as per the orders of the Child Justice Board, has been sent to Hirangar Reform Facility in Shimla.

1. Outrage spreads in the area

The attempted assault on the girl triggered widespread anger in the entire region. On March 8th, 200 people from the area gathered at the victim’s home. The protestors included local college students, BJP unit president, BJP youth workers, Bajrang Dal activists, representatives from the merchant association, and women from Bhadoli, Bakain, and Kalol villages. Tension has escalated in the area after an angry mob entered a religious site in Bhadoli and vandalized it.

2. Enhanced police security

Police have been deployed around the accused’s house as well as near religious and sensitive locations across the district. Police stated that the victim girl’s medical examination report is still pending. A case has been registered under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family members.

3. Hindu protection organization intervenes

Kamal Gautam of the Hindu Raksha Manch (Hindu Protection Forum) visited the victim’s family along with activists. He demanded immediate action in this matter.
