Patliputra (Bihar) – Nitish Kumar, who has served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for nearly 20 years, will now enter the Rajya Sabha. He announced this by posting information on X on the afternoon of March 5. He has also filed his nomination for Rajya Sabha membership. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the newly elected BJP president Nitin Nabin were present with Kumar while he filed the nomination. Following this decision of Nitish Kumar, discussions have begun on who will become the new Chief Minister of Bihar. Opposition parties are criticising the BJP and alleging that the party is playing politics in Bihar similar to what it did in Maharashtra.

While explaining his stand, Nitish Kumar stated that the people of Bihar have trusted him for the past two decades. On the strength of this trust, they have served Bihar. Because of the trust and support of the people, Bihar is now on the path of development. From the beginning of his parliamentary career, he had a desire to become a member of both Houses of the Bihar Legislature as well as both Houses of Parliament.

Therefore, he has submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election to be held this year. He added that he will extend his support and guidance to the new government that will be formed in Bihar.
