Smt. Dinaprabha Samant (Age 83), a seeker performing bhav-enriched sadhana, becomes Sanatan’s 137th Saint

Pujya (Smt.) Dinaprabha Samant

Originally from Thane, the Samant couple initially resided at the Thane Sevakendra and performed sadhana (Spiritual practice). In 2017, they began residing at Sanatan’s Devad Ashram in Panvel and continued their sadhana there.

Owing to the qualities of humility and very minimal ego, Mr Sadashiv Samant became Sanatan’s 103rd Saint in 2019. In 2021, at the age of 84, Pujya Sadashiv Samant renounced His body.

His wife, Mrs Dinaprabha Sadashiv Samant (Age 83), has been performing sadhana under the guidance of Sanatan Sanstha for the past 27 years (since 1998).

In Her later years, at the age of 74, She came to reside at Devad Ashram. Although Her earlier lifestyle and dietary habits were completely different, She happily accepted every aspect of Ashram life. She has always had immense gratitude in Her heart for being able to reside in the Ashram and perform satseva (Service unto the Absolute Truth) there.

Due to qualities such as bhav (Spiritual emotion), intense yearning, an attitude of acceptance and stability, her spiritual progress continued steadily. In 2012, She attained the spiritual level of 60% and was freed from the cycles of birth-and-death.

After Pujya Sadashiv Samant renounced His body, She went to stay with Her daughters away from the Ashram. She accepted this change in the situation too with equal ease.

At present, although Pujya Samant Aji resides outside the Ashram physically, mentally She is always in the Ashram.

A unique feature of Pujya Samant Aji is that since Her sadhana is performed from within and in a deeply emotional manner, it is not bound by place or time. Hence, whether She is at Devad Ashram or staying with Her daughters in Uttarakhand or Mumbai, Her sadhana continues uninterrupted. Consequently, Her spiritual progress has been rapid.

On Guru Purnima in 2025, Samant Aji’s spiritual level was 69%, and on this auspicious day, She has attained the spiritual level of 71% and has now been declared Sanatan’s 137th  Vyashti Saint. This is the 11th instance in Sanatan’s history where both husband and wife (Pujya [Late] Sadashiv Samant and Pujya [Smt.] Dinaprabha Samant) have attained Sainthood.

I am confident that Pujya (Smt.) Dinaprabha Samant’s future spiritual progress will also be at a rapid pace.
