Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – A programme had been organised at Narsee Monjee Institute in the city on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. During the event, some activists from devout Hindu organisations reached the spot and opposed the programme.
The activists raised slogans in the premises. Some entered the institute and vandalised property. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot. They brought the situation under control and took measures to maintain law and order in the area.
It has been reported that prior intimation of the programme had not been given to the police.
The police are currently examining CCTV footage to identify those involved in the vandalism. They stated that further legal action will be taken against them.
Editorial PerspectiveThose opposing Valentine’s Day are mocked as ‘troublemakers’ and ‘antisocial elements’; however, it is necessary to raise a voice against those who organise such programmes that encourage immoral behaviour in society. |
