Two British tourists’ visas revoked for putting up anti-Israeli posters in Pushkar (Rajasthan)

An order to leave India

(A visa is a document allowing any tourist to stay in a country for a certain period of time)

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Two British tourists have had their visas revoked in Pushkar, a holy pilgrimage site in the state for Hindus, for committing a heinous act. Intelligence agencies received information that they were putting up anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian stickers (posters) in the alleys there. Based on this, the administration immediately revoked their visas and ordered them to leave India.

Lewis Gabriel and his friend Anushi Emma, the British tourists, had come to India on a tourist visa. Their visas were revoked because they participated in political activities that seemed violating the visa rules. This incident happened on 21 January. The intelligence department had received information from the police that stickers with political messages were being put up in the alleys of Pushkar. The British couple were identified by police on CCTV footage, and took immediate action against them. Security forces have been put on high alert due to the large number of Israeli tourists in Pushkar.
