Brutal Attack on VHP Leader by fanatic Muslims at Ujjain

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) – On 22.01.2026 at around 7.30 p.m., a few fanatic Muslims attacked a leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at Tarana in Ujjain district. After the attack, there were riots and violence. Buses were damaged; there was stone-pelting at Hindus’ houses; breaking window- glasses. Muslims were carrying sharp weapons as reported by some onlookers. Later, the Police reached the place of incident and brought the situation under control though there is tension in the area.

Large Police staff has been deployed; but again, on the next day i.e. Friday on 23.01.2026, Muslims started stone-pelting and violence after their afternoon ‘Namaz’ amidst slogans of ‘Allah-o-Akbar’. They damaged many buses and there was arson. After this incident, many local Hindu women came out on the road carrying sticks. The incident is reported to be an outcome of a dispute going on since the last few months.

On 22.01.2026, Muslims had beaten up VHP’s leader Sohel Thakur and his associate Rajat Thakur, seriously injuring them. They were first admitted to Tarana Hospital but considering their condition, after giving first-aid, they were taken to Ujjain for further treatment.

Devout Hindu organisations stage demonstrations outside Police Station

On learning about the incident of beating, a large number of activists of devout Hindu organisations gathered outside the Police station and staged demonstrations, demanding immediate arrests of the guilty and severe action against them. Additional Police staff was called considering the situation and patrolling has been beefed up in the area.

Cases filed against six persons

The Superintendent of Police Pradip Sharma informed on 22.01.2026 at night that a case has been filed against six persons for brutal attack. Presently, there is peace as additional Police staff has been deployed at Tarana from Ujjain, Makdon and other places.

  • Hindus don’t expect such incidents like in Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala, etc. as BJP has been ruling the State for many years.
  • Such incidents show the need for Hindus to know how to defend themselves. Hindus should no longer be under the illusion that Police or the Government will protect them.
