“The Union Govt is treating Muslims like second-class citizens” : Pinarayi Vijayan

Allegation by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan!

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has accused the BJP-led Central government of treating Muslims as second-class citizens. He alleged that policies of the Central government; such as the Citizenship-related laws and the new Waqf Act; are pushing the Muslim community away from the national mainstream. He made these remarks while addressing the concluding event of the “Kerala Yatra,” organised by the Kerala Muslim Jamaat. The yatra began on January 1 from Kasaragod, traversed the entire state, and concluded in Thiruvananthapuram.

“Places of worship of Muslims and Christians are being attacked”

Chief Minister Vijayan stated that secularism, democracy, and constitutional values are currently under threat in the country. He claimed that across India, minority communities—particularly Muslims and Christians—as well as their places of worship, are facing attacks. (In reality, it is Hindu temples that are being attacked, and the perpetrators are predominantly religiously radical Muslims. This has been clearly established through incidents across the country. By deliberately making false claims, Chief Minister Vijayan is attempting to portray Hindus as the accused and followers of other religions as innocent! – Editor)

He further asserted that such challenges cannot be confronted unless secularism is strengthened further. He added that Kerala had witnessed several communal riots in the past, but due to the firm stance of the Left-led government, such incidents have now come to a halt. He emphasized the need to alert the public to forces that seek to divide society on the basis of religion.
