  • Anti-Hindu act at a College Hostel in Wada (Palghar district)

  • Criminal offence registered

  • Hindutva organisations warn of agitation if stringent action is not taken

Palghar, 7 January – A grave incident of religious coercion has come to light at the hostel of Ideal College in Wada taluka, where a Hindu girl student was allegedly forced to offer namaz. Following a formal complaint by the victim, the police have registered a criminal case in the matter. The hostel superintendent and college lecturer Ashok Arya, have been suspended.

The victim, a Hindu girl student, had taken admission to the college in a professional course merely four days ago and was residing in the college hostel. It is alleged that the hostel superintendent, along with a few Muslim girl students forced her to offer namaz.

After informing her father, the victim lodged a complaint with the college administration; however, the administration reportedly gave evasive and dismissive response. (Officials who resort to such evasive replies deserve outright dismissal! – Editor)

Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad have demanded strict action against the college administration and warned of a strong agitation if immediate action is not taken. (The vigilant and action-oriented Hindutva organisations committed to the protection of Dharma deserve appreciation ! Why are such warnings even required ? – Editor)

Palghar Superintendent of Police Yatin Deshmukh visited the college and checked the actual situation. Earlier also allegations of ragging and mental harassment had been raised against this college. Responding to these allegations, college trustee Chehak Jain stated, “No such incident has occurred earlier in our institution. We will extend full cooperation to the police.”

Editorial Perspective

Such an incident involving a Hindu girl student in Hindu-majority Maharashtra is shocking and intolerable ! Hindus must unite and compel the government to initiate strict legal action against the culprits.
