Success of Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti in Telangana

Hyderabad (Telangana) – The Gnana Saraswati Temple at Basara in Telangana is managed by the State Government. Distribution of ‘Prasadam’ was stopped by this temple under the excuse of the temple incurring losses. The temple also increased the cost of ‘Laddoos’ sold as ‘prasadam’ from Rs 100/- to Rs 150/-. Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti (HRSS) staged agitations against this issue after which the State Endowments Department cancelled both the decisions. It is the success of all devout Hindu organisations coming together for their demand. They paid gratitude to Sanatan Sanstha’s founder Sacchidananda Parabrahman Dr Athavale and Gnana Saraswati Devi.

1.The executive officer of the temple displayed a notice on the board charging Rs 150/- for ‘Akshararambh’ ritual and distributing one ‘laddoo’ as ‘prasadam’. The temple, however, stopped distributing ‘laddoos’ under the excuse of incurring losses. The cost of half a kg ‘laddoos’ was also raised to Rs 150/- from Rs 100/-.
2.On learning about these changes, various devout Hindu organisations came together under the aegis of ‘Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti’. The representative members of the ‘Samiti’ went to Basara and staged agitations; followed by submitting memorandum. The local MLA was also appealed to re-consider the Government’s decision. Later, the additional commissioner of the State Endowments Department was also submitted memorandum demanding to withdraw this decision.
3. The Endowment Department withdrew its notice as a consequence of the continuous follow up. Distribution of ‘Laddoos’ as ‘Prasadam’ has been re-started and the price hike for half a kg ‘Laddoos’ has also been cancelled as they will continue to be available for the old price of Rs 100/-.
