New Delhi – The BJP has circulated a video on its X (formerly Twitter) account in which Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra from West Bengal is purportedly heard saying, “Ram was not a Hindu, he was a Muslim.”
.@AitcOfficial leaders cannot help but insult Hindu Gods and Hindu beliefs it seems. Now TMC MLA Madan Mitra says Lord Ram was a Muslim, Not Hindu.
This continuous abuse of our culture and history is not a slip of tongue! Rather it is a no-so-subtle message to illegal… pic.twitter.com/Cf2TnDb2Wq

In a statement posted on social media, the BJP said that TMC MLA Madan Mitra claimed that “Lord Ram was a Muslim.” The party alleged that this repeated insult to culture and history is not accidental, but a deliberate signal to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants that the Trinamool Congress is the most anti-Hindu party and represents such an ideology. Such statements, the BJP said, clearly expose the ideological position of the Trinamool Congress. It further asserted that in the coming months, such anti-Hindu leaders would no longer remain in power.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated that such remarks do not stem merely from ignorance, but from political patronage. He added that when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remains silent, it becomes clear that she consents to this insult.
Madan Mitra’s clarification
Madan Mitra issued a clarification regarding the controversy. He said, “My statement has been misinterpreted. I had merely raised the question of whether Lord Ram had any legal rights.”
Editorial PerspectiveThe Trinamool Congress has crossed all limits in appeasing Muslims. In the upcoming elections, it has become necessary for Hindus in West Bengal to decisively defeat the Trinamool Congress. |
