‘Kalma’ teaching stopped after Hindus protest

Kalma is an Islamic declaration praising Allah

Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand) – It was found that ‘Kalma’ was taught in the morning prayers recited in ‘Adarsh Janata Montessori’ private school in Kaushalyapuri area which has led to an uproar. A video showing teaching of ‘Kalma’ has become viral on social media resulting in strong protests by devout Hindu organisations.

Explanation and acceptance by Head Master

The school head master Girish Chandra Saini informed that there are 110 Hindu and 80 Muslim students studying in the school. ‘Kalma’ was being taught to all students for one year during the prayers in the school but he accepted that it was wrong to teach ‘Kalma’ to all students and it has since been stopped.

District Chief Education Officer P S Rawat stated that it was observed during the investigations that the school is located in such an area, where Muslim population is more and where Hindu students are also studying. It is wrong as per the education policy. The school has been served a notice in this regard and appropriate action will be taken.
