What were you doing until a ₹4,000 ticket went up to ₹30,000 ?

The Delhi High Court raps the Union Government about the Indigo crisis

New Delhi – What did the Government do when the Indigo Airlines’ flights began to get cancelled ? How did the cost of tickets go from 4-5 thousand to 30 thousand rupees? How did the other aviation companies profit from this situation ? What action did you take ?  It is because of you that the situation worsened greatly. The Delhi High Court rapped the Union Government with these scathing remarks with regard to the Indigo crisis. A public interest litigation had demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the Indigo crisis and compensation for those whose flights were cancelled or who were stranded at the airport. The courts made these observations during the hearing of this PIL.

The Government should now ensure that this does not happen again

The Court further observed that this issue is not limited to distress to individual passengers but has caused financial losses. The Government must ensure that such a situation never arises in the future.

Editorial Perspective

The people now feel that the Courts should order the implementation of regulations for airline ticket prices.
