Victims were secretly filmed in obscene videos and then blackmailed for money; police constable Riyaz arrested

Lakshmanpuri (Uttar Pradesh) – Police constable Riyaz has been arrested for filming victims in compromising situations inside a hotel and extorting money from them. A court has remanded him in 14-day judicial custody. A young woman and a young man from the same gang are already in jail. Police are also searching for former district panchayat member Pravesh Bharadwaj, who is absconding along with others involved.

1. Kamalnagar Police arrested Riyaz from Kanpur. Investigations reveal that he was part of a gang that secretly captured obscene images of victims and then threatened and extorted them.

2. Riyaz exploited his position as a policeman to intimidate victims and shield the criminals involved in the extortion racket.

3. Earlier, police had arrested a young woman from Mainpuri and a criminal named Ganesh from Bah. They allegedly befriended a young man, filmed him in an obscene video and demanded ₹4 lakh.

4. While posted as a constable in Agra, Riyaz would drive around with a rifle in his vehicle, keeping himself in the spotlight. Regardless of his postings, he preferred roaming in civilian clothes rather than wearing his uniform.

5. Riyaz had long been accused of collecting protection money, yet action against him was consistently avoided. He was known to maintain links with traders, lawyers, political figures and the criminal underworld.
