Jagrut’ Temple of Kartik  Swami and ‘Navapashan’ idol at Palani

There is a ‘Jagrut’ Temple of Kartik Swami  at Palani in Tamil Nadu. Kartik Swami is known as ‘Dandayudhapani’. Kartik Swami is seen with a ‘Dand’ in His hand and young army leader of Gods. This idol is called ‘Navapashan Murty’. ‘Nava’ means nine and ‘Pashan’ means poison. This idol is sculpted by Sage Bogar using nine types of poisonous ayurvedic roots; therefore, it is called as ‘Navapashan Murty’.
