In Hinduism, there is one deity for those who marry twice and another for those who drink alcohol” : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s outrageous remarks about Hindu deities!

Bhagyanagar (Telangana) – How many deities do Hindus actually worship? Are there really 30 million gods? And why so many? “One deity for the unmarried, that is Hanuman; one for those who marry twice; another for those who consume alcohol. Yellamma, Pochamma, Maisamma – one deity to whom liquor is offered, another to whom chicken is sacrificed, and yet another to whom dal–rice is offered. Every community has its own deity.”

These were the comments made by Telangana’s Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a meeting at Gandhi Bhavan. The BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have sharply criticised him. Goshamahal MLA and outspoken Hindu leader T. Raja Singh has also condemned him strongly.

“Has Revanth Reddy converted to Islam ?” – MLA T. Raja Singh

While addressing a gathering in Makthal, Narayanpet district, MLA T. Raja Singh launched a fierce verbal attack on the Chief Minister. He said it was shocking to hear such remarks from someone who once belonged to the BJP’s student wing.

He questioned whether Revanth Reddy had planned a religious conversion after a closed-door meeting with Asaduddin Owaisi. “After that meeting, is he now targeting and defaming Hindu deities? Has Revanth Reddy embraced Islam?” These were the questions he raised.

Raja Singh further said that, at least now, the Hindus of Telangana must recognize Revanth Reddy’s true nature. People should remember that they have placed in power, someone who insults their deities.

Criticism from BJP and VHP

BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar stated that the BJP had already warned that if Congress or Bharat Rashtra Samithi returned to power, the self-respect of Hindus would be endangered. Revanth Reddy’s statements have now proven this warning to be true.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded that the Chief Minister issue an unconditional apology for his remarks.

Editorial Perspective

The truth is this: no one insults Hindu Dharma as much as certain Hindus themselves, especially the so-called “progressive” (in reality, regressive) groups, members of the Congress, socialist factions, and other political leaders. Seeing this trend, it has become imperative for India to consider enacting laws similar to Pakistan’s Blasphemy Law, where offenders face the death penalty. Only then will such people be deterred from making such statements.
