Pakistan supplies expired products aid to cyclone-hit Sri Lanka

Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Cyclone Ditva caused floods in Colombo. The materials sent by Pakistan to help the people affected by the cyclone seemed outdated. The High Commission of Pakistan posted on social media that it always stands by Sri Lanka and is sending relief materials. However, the High Commission of Pakistan has now deleted this post.

However, many Media users raised a question on this claim of Pakistan that it was ever ready to help countries suffering disasters. They alleged that they had doubts about Pakistan’s intentions as the materials sent were outdated a year ago. Hence, Pakistan is facing criticism from all over. Some criticised that it was an unbelievable and shameful step for Pakistan to send outdated supplies to the people in their time of calamity. On the other hand, India maintained the friendship by sending the required materials through ‘Operation Sagar Bandhu’.

Editorial Perspective

It appears that although Pakistan is heading towards a financial crisis, it is still showing off through philanthropy, providing aid to other countries.
