Pak Sindh minister’s childish outburst after Rajnath Singh’s Sindh remark

Karachi (Pakistan) – “Gujarat, Haryana and Rajasthan belong to us, and we will prove it,” declared Pakistan’s Sindh province minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, in a childish outburst delivered on the floor of the Sindh Assembly. His remark came in response to India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent comment regarding Sindh. Shah said that if India can comment on Sindh, then he too can lay claim to Indian States.
What had Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said ?
Addressing a gathering of Sindhi people in Delhi on 23 November, Rajnath Singh had said that although the land of Sindh is not currently part of India, it has always remained part of India in terms of civilisation. Speaking further on territorial matters, he remarked that borders can change at any time, and that Sindh may return to India someday.
‘Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz’ welcomes Singh’s statement !
Shafi Burfat, leader of the Sindh-based organisation ‘Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz’, strongly welcomed Singh’s statement. He said the remark was historic, uplifting and inspiring for the Sindhi people. According to him, it strengthens hopes for Sindh’s independence and its future strong ties with India.
He added that Sindh and India have always shared deep cultural, historical and emotional bonds, and his organisation has long believed in this idea.
Editorial PerspectiveThe statement of a Pakistani minister who cannot keep his own country united is laughable and exposes his intellectual bankruptcy. It is a classic case of ‘an unthinking tongue inviting a slap’. |
