Bihar Assembly Elections

Patna (Bihar) – In the State Assembly elections held in Bihar, the BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (U) alliance secured a massive victory; therefore, this alliance will once again form the Government in Bihar. BJP is leading on maximum seats, followed by JD (U). People in Bihar are wondering whether they will have Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister from JD (U) or a Chief Minister of the BJP. There has been no official announcement from either of the parties. It was, however, announced before the elections that Nitish Kumar would be the CM, and the Modi Government has survived with the support of Nitish Kumar’s party. As such, it is felt that even if the BJP secures the highest seats, Nitish Kumar will be the CM of Bihar.

Prashant Kishor’s newly formed party, viz. ‘Jan Suraaj’ has not managed to even open an account in the elections conducted for 243 seats in Bihar, while Congress is leading only on 4 seats. Chirag Paswan’s ‘Lok Janshakti’ party is leading on 19 seats. This party has supported the BJP- JD (U) alliance. MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party is leading on six seats. This party had won the same number of seats even in the last elections. Later, 5 people from this party switched over to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
