Disabled Bangladeshi fanatic in Bengaluru kicks Deity’s idol in temple

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – A disabled religious fanatic stormed into a temple wearing slippers, kicked the Deity’s idol, and dragged it out of the sanctum, shocking locals. The accused, identified as Kabir, committed the act on 28th October. Following the incident, locals beat him up and handed him over to the Police. During interrogation, he admitted to being a Bangladeshi national.

Details of the incident

1. Kabir, a physically challenged man, runs a shoe-repair shop in Devarabeesanahalli, Bengaluru.

2. Around 8:30 a.m., shouting Islamic slogans, he approached a nearby pharmacy and struck a picture of Shri Ganesh displayed there with a stick. When locals confronted him, he ran toward a nearby temple.

3. Near the temple, he shouted loudly, threw stones at the temple’s Garuda pillar, and carried a bottle containing an oily substance. Then, wearing slippers, he entered the temple’s sanctum, pulled the Deity’s idol, and kicked it repeatedly, according to eyewitnesses.

4. Witnessing his blasphemous act, the locals dragged Kabir out of the temple, beat him, and handed him over to the Police. He was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment. 5. Marathahalli Police visited the site, seized the oil bottle, slippers, and stones, and confirmed that they will question the accused further after his recovery.
