Jalna, Maharashtra – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Jalna Municipal Corporation’s acting Commissioner, Santosh Khandekar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh from a private contractor. The ACB has launched an in-depth investigation into the case.
According to the ACB, Khandekar had demanded a bribe from the complainant for clearing the payment related to a construction project. Taking the complaint seriously, the ACB laid a trap and arrested him while accepting the money. Advocate Reema Kharat has demanded a detailed probe into Khandekar’s properties, stating, “The Commissioner demolished the homes of the poor — this is the result of his own deeds. The action taken is justified.” Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s Youth District President, Vijay Lahane, also welcomed the arrest.
