New York (USA) – Although Hindus make up only 8% of Bangladesh’s population, they face more than 50% of the total attacks in the country. If this violence had not been driven by religious hatred, such statistics would not exist, said Prof. Chandan Sarkar, a staunch Hindu stalwart in Bangladesh. Prof. Sarkar was addressing a protest by Bangladeshi Hindus against the interim Government in Bangladesh. “Government officials dismiss this as ‘political violence’; but these attacks on Hindus are an undeniable fact. Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh solely because of their faith,” he added. Prof. Sarkar has informed ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ in this regard.

Prof. Sarkar informed :

1. The head of the interim Government in Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, resembles the then Pakistani President Yahya Khan, who was responsible for the genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh in 1971.

2. In just 4 months since Yunus took power, i.e. from August 8th, 2024, to December 17th, 2024, there were 2,347 violent attacks targeting Hindus. These include the destruction of 152 temples, the abduction and gang rape of 47 Hindu girls, and the killing of 200 minorities.

3. Like Yahya Khan in 1971, Muhammad Yunus’ regime allowed militants to burn houses, rape women, and demolish temples. The Police turned a blind eye to this.

4. 17 Hindutva activists, including youth leaders, are rotting in jail on false charges of sedition. They were silenced for daring to speak out against injustice. This is not unrest; this is genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Not only in Bangladesh, but also in India, where Hindus constitute 78% of the total population, most of the attacks happen against them, and that too by fanatic Muslims. This situation is shameful for Hindus.
  • Perhaps it is time to tell the Indian Government along with Indian Hindus, to ‘just read and sit back’. This critical situation is haunting the devout Hindus.
