Revelation by Pakistan’s former cricketer Ajmal Saeed

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s former cricketer Saeed Ajmal has informed that Pakistan’s then Prime Minister (PM) Yusuf Raza Gilani gave a cheque for Rs 25 lakhs to every member of the cricket team that played the T-20 World Cup Tournament held in 2009 but the cheques bounced and could never be encashed.

Ajmal revealed further that the then PM called them up over phone to inform that he was sending a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs each for every player; therefore, all the players were very happy since the amount was a lot for them. The cheques, however, could never be encashed. Later, they were told that the Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would distribute the cheques; however, the PCB Chief flatly refused and said that it was difficult to get money from anywhere. Whatever money was received, was all from the international cricket conference. After this, the match played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan resulted in an abysmal loss of Pakistan.
