Turkey’s plot to turn Nepal into an Islamic nation !

  • Efforts underway to provide Islamic education to poor and orphaned Hindu children

  • Turkish funding reportedly supports several NGOs

Kathmandu (Nepal) – Following revelations that foreign nationals without legal authorization were teaching the Quran to young Hindu children in Nepal, authorities conducted raids at multiple locations. Investigations revealed that certain foreign entities are allegedly targeting impoverished and orphaned Hindu children in an attempt to alter the country’s religious demographics. Turkey is reportedly behind these efforts.

Raids were conducted on several hostels in Lalitpur linked to the ‘Himalaya Education and Welfare Society,’ an NGO that provides education to poor and orphaned children.

Children from districts such as Kapilvastu, Siraha, Rautahat, and Banke were brought to these institutions and given Islamic education with the intent of religious conversion. Instead of the official curriculum prescribed by the Nepalese government, these children were taught Islamic scriptures. Notably, Nepal’s national curriculum does not include religious education, yet these NGOs were actively promoting it.
Investigations further revealed that these organizations receive approximately NPR 25 million annually from foreign sources, including 6 international organizations based in Turkey. Additionally, several Islamic scholars from Indonesia reportedly enter Nepal on tourist visas and engage in religious proselytization; an explicit violation of Nepal’s immigration laws.

Officials acknowledged that such activities not only breach legal boundaries but also pose serious threats to national security and the integrity of children’s education. Several Nepalese authorities have described the situation as “extremely serious.”

Escalation under Erdoğan’s leadership

During President Erdoğan’s tenure, hundreds of such organizations have reportedly been established with the aim of promoting Islamic education in non-Muslim countries like India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Several radical groups active in Turkey are said to operate in India via Nepal. Consequently, the Nepalese government is now considering stricter regulations on foreign funding and NGO activities to curb the spread of Islamic influence.

Editorial Perspectives

  • It is now imperative not only for India but also for Nepal to be declared a Hindu Rashtra to safeguard Hindus’ interests.
  • Hindus have never attempted to impose their religion on others or spread it through conspiracies. However, followers of other religions often do so, and Hindus are frequently their primary targets—an unfortunate reality that Hindus must confront.
